A TEACHING ON THE FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

TO GET THIS TEACHING ON VIDEO,

The fruit of the Spirit are the attributes, characteristics, or qualities of a person baptized with the Holy Spirit and walks according to the word of God, as directed by the Holy Spirit.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: (John 1:12). We become God’s children when we receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in our lives. Before salvation, we have no right of being God’s children. Therefore, there is a great difference between people who are born again and other people. People that have not received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in their lives cannot be baptized with the Holy Spirit. In the book of John 14:15-17 Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him;. ..” Therefore, salvation is the first step that one must accept before he is baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit is the Helper to those who have dedicated their lives to Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit helps the saints to obey God. It is not possible to obey God without the help of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says, “…Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, ‘Says the LORD of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6b). The Holy Spirit perfects our deeds every day.

The Bible says, “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God” (Romans 8:16). The Holy Spirit is the sure witness in the life of a Christian that he is a child of God. Nobody can convince us that we are God’s children except the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit knows when we are guilty of sin and when we are innocent. He is aware of our righteousness or our evil lives. When we live a righteous life the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirits that we are, truly, God’s children.

The Holy Spirit in our lives is the seal of God to show we are God’s property, destined for eternal life. Holy Spirit in our lives is the rubber stamp of God to show His ownership of ourselves. The Bible says, “… having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance …” (Ephesians 1:13b – 14a). The Holy Spirit is the guarantee or surety of the inheritance of eternal life.

When the Holy Spirit comes into our lives, we portray the fruit of the Spirit. In Galatians 5:22-23, the Bible says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Today, the world is experiencing strained relationships between people because many people have refused to be led by the Holy Spirit. Where leadership of the Holy Spirit prevails, true, perfect, and permanent love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control prevail.

LOVE

Jesus said, “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” (John 15:12). Jesus demonstrated true love to all human beings by sacrificing His life on the cross on our behalf. We were supposed to die, "For the wages of sin is death..." (Romans 6:23), but Jesus became sin, though He had not committed any sin, so that we may be set free from the guilt of sin. No one can show true love to human beings, as Jesus did, unless he is filled with Holy Spirit. Love without leadership of the Holy Spirit is temporal and fake.

In Matthew 22:39 Jesus said, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” It is only the Holy Spirit who can help you to be the gauge or measure of love towards other people. “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” (1 John 4:8)

JOY

True joy comes from the Holy Spirit. Jesus said “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” (John 15:11). When the Holy Spirit comes into somebody’s life, He brings true joy - the joy that one cannot receive from the world. True joy is not got from the riches or property and positions of this world; the true joy only comes from the Holy Spirit. Even during difficult times, the Holy Spirit gives joy that is beyond human understanding.

“… Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10b).

PEACE

"Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God." (Matthew 5:9). We need peace in the world. Anyone who makes peace is identified with the children of God. True peace only comes from the Holy Spirit.

Pray that God fills you with the Holy Spirit!!!
